HEL British Motostar Moto3 Standard – Rd 8 – Cadwell Park

Cadwell Park circuit long with the famous ‘Mountain’ well known to all riders
is 2.25 miles with corners, twists and narrow sections.

Friday free practice sessions remained dry although there was a shower about
40 minutes before the start of the second session. First practice saw Cameron
finish 5 th and in the second practice 2 nd overall in the standard class with the gap
between riders in both practices being very tight.

Qualifying again was dry and saw Cameron pushing hard getting in some good
sector times, making up places on the corners but just unable to hold the place
on the longer straights and finishing in 5 th place.

First race on Saturday, with good weather all riders for determined to get into
good positions. Despite the excellent track conditions there were 7 riders who
came off, fortunately with no injury. Cameron was riding hard, putting in some
good lap times trying hard to take fourth place from Charlie Atkins but took the
flag in 5 th place.

Sunday and despite some heavy showers earlier in the day the weather was fine
and the track dry for the Moto 3 riders. Wanting to improve on his Saturday’s
finish, Cameron was pushing hard from the start and riding well but got held in
traffic by slower Moto 3 riders on a couple of occasions and wasn’t able to push
forward. Taking 6 th place at the flag, picking up some valuable points to remain
in 6 th place overall in the championship .

After the race Cameron said he had enjoyed Cadwell and was pleased with the
weekend overall. Once again thank you to my Dad for all the work he does on
the bike to get it race ready and for taking me to races; also my family and
everyone who supports and encourages me.
